Terms of service

These terms are the agreement between you and Sajibu Labs (India) for your use of Tab Keeper. By using the app you accept them. If you do not accept them, do not use the app. How we handle your data is a separate document: see the privacy policy.

1. What Tab Keeper is

Tab Keeper is a personal record-keeping tool. You write down money you lend or borrow, and physical items you lend out or hold, with the people you deal with. It shows you what is outstanding.

2. What Tab Keeper is not

This matters enough to say twice:

• It is not a payment service. No money moves through Tab Keeper. We do not hold, transfer, or process funds, and we are not connected to your bank.
• It is not a lending agreement, and it does not create one. What you record is your note to yourself, not a contract with anybody.
• It is not financial, legal, or tax advice.
• It is not an authoritative financial record. Your balances and reminders are conveniences. Do not rely on them where money or law depends on the figure — keep your own records for anything that matters.

3. Your account

• You sign in with Google, Apple or Facebook. We never see or store a password.
• One ledger belongs to one sign-in identity. If you sign in later with a different provider using the same email address, you will be given the same ledger — that is deliberate, so you do not lose your data by switching buttons.
• Your login on your device is what protects your ledger. Anyone with your unlocked device can read it, so keep your device locked.
• You must be old enough to hold an account: at least 16 in the EEA or UK, and at least 13 elsewhere. See section 11 of the privacy policy.

4. The people you write about

The contacts in your ledger are entries in your own notebook, not users of Tab Keeper:

• They are never told that you wrote about them.
• They have no accounts, no access, and no way to see what you recorded.
• Nothing is shared with them, sent to them, or shown to them.

You are responsible for what you write about other people. Recording what you owe someone is your own business; using Tab Keeper to harass, defame or unlawfully track somebody is not, and it is a breach of these terms.

5. Your content is yours

The contacts, transactions and notes you enter remain yours. We claim no ownership of them, and we do not use them for anything except showing them back to you and keeping the ledger working. We do not use them to train models, and we do not sell or share them.

6. Acceptable use

If you do any of the following, we may suspend or delete your account:

• break the law with it, or use it to plan or record something unlawful;
• try to reach another account's data, or to break, overload, or probe the service or its authentication;
• scrape or mass-extract data from the API, or resell access to it;
• impersonate someone else, or sign in with an identity that is not yours.

7. Availability and changes

Tab Keeper is a small, independently built app. We do not promise any level of availability, and we may change, suspend or discontinue it — or any part of it, such as a sign-in provider — at any time. If we ever discontinue the service entirely, we will give notice in the app, and a reasonable opportunity to get your data out, before it goes away. Keeping your own copy of anything you would miss is a good habit regardless.

8. No warranty

Tab Keeper is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranty of any kind, express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose, merchantability, accuracy, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the app will be uninterrupted or error-free, or that any figure it shows you is correct.

9. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent the law allows, Sajibu Labs is not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for lost profits, lost data, or losses arising from a decision you made on the basis of something the app displayed. To the same extent, our total liability for any claim relating to Tab Keeper is limited to the greater of the amount you paid us for it (which, if you are using the free app, is nothing) and the minimum the law requires.

Nothing in these terms excludes liability that cannot lawfully be excluded.

10. Ending this agreement

• You can end it at any time by deleting your account in the app, under Settings → Delete account. See the account deletion page.
• We can end it if you breach these terms, or to comply with the law. Where it is reasonable to do so, we will tell you first.

11. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms — for a new feature, or for a legal reason. If a change is significant, we will say so in the app before it takes effect and update the effective date above. Continuing to use Tab Keeper after that means you accept the new terms.

12. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of India, and the courts of India have jurisdiction over any dispute — without taking away any mandatory consumer protections you have where you live.
